CHAPTER 48 - Chapter 48
After paying, Su Yuchen returned to the fitting room to change his clothes. Kristia let out a sigh of relief and reached into the bag slung over her shoulder.
After smelling the fresh scent of blood on Su Yuchen all morning, her desire for blood grew stronger. She needed to suppress it; otherwise, she might expose herself in front of him.
Her fingers were just about to touch the small bottle containing blood that her mother had given her—
“Tia~”
In a voice filled with allure, Phyllis rushed towards Kristia in high heels.
“Oops!”
Suddenly, she twisted her right foot and stumbled toward Kristia. Her slightly parted red lips got closer and closer to Kristia’s neck, but then… a hand blocked her.
“Fake stumbling? Really?” Kristia pushed away her roommate, who exuded desire all over, with a blank expression. “There are plenty of surveillance cameras in the mall. I won’t hesitate to report you, even if you are my roommate.”
Phyllis licked her lips, disappointment in her eyes as she withdrew from Kristia’s pristine neck. “What are you doing here? Planning to buy a dress?”
“Not for myself.”
“For that junior?” Phyllis snorted. “Tia, I’m jealous that you’re still dating him.”
Kristia didn’t bother to respond and even distanced herself slightly from her.
Sensual desire was as contagious as a yawn.
“Senior Tia, I’m done.” Su Yuchen, carrying the shopping bag, came out happily. But when he saw Phyllis, his smile instantly faded. “Senior Phyllis.”
“Junior Yuchen, you’re quite something, making Tia accompany you on a date. What’s your secret? Tell me.” Phyllis observed Su Yuchen. It had to be said; his image was indeed impressive. Most male vampires couldn’t compare, but unfortunately, he was too hollow, with hardly any scent.
“I invited him,” Kristia said calmly.
“He wanted you to invite him. You never accompanied me on a date or shopping,” Phyllis retorted.
Kristia couldn’t be bothered. “Junior Yuchen, let’s go.”
“What’s the rush?” Phyllis, licking her lips, followed along. “Planning to go somewhere else? I’m pretty familiar with this place.”
“Do you like being a third wheel?” Kristia glanced at her. “Aren’t you with your boyfriend? I doubt you’d come out alone.”
“He’s still lying in bed, had a bit too much fun last night.” Phyllis licked her lips. “He’s not important; you’re important, Tia.”
“Junior Yuchen, do you want her to come along?”
“I’ll listen to what Senior says.”
“Humph, what’s good about such an indecisive guy?” Phyllis snorted. “His clothes, did you pay for them?”
“Junior Yuchen is quite wealthy.”
“Oh, a rich kid from a wealthy family. No wonder you’re so hollow at such a young age. From what age did you start playing?” Phyllis blurted out, “Was it with the maid at home for the first time?”
“I lack the rich experience of Senior Phyllis,” Su Yuchen said. “Definitely don’t have as many tricks as you… flashy on the outside, tattered on the inside.”
“Ha, I take great care of myself, especially in my appearance—”
“Say another word and I’ll tear your mouth apart!” Kristia glanced at her. Did he need her to tease him?
Phyllis gave Su Yuchen a discreet threatening look and smiled at Kristia. “So, where are we going next? Are you going to buy yourself a dress? I can help you pick one. I’ll make sure you’re the most beautiful at the party.”
“I need a break!” Kristia grabbed Su Yuchen’s wrist and led him to the fifth-floor food area, casually finding a cold drink shop to sit down. “Do you want something to drink?”
“No…”
“Wanna try a cup of milk tea? See how it compares to the ones sold outside and the one I make for you?” Kristia teased, narrowing her eyes at him.
Autumn milk tea…
Autumn Tea…
Please…
“N-No, thank you.” Su Yuchen quickly shook his head, feeling a bit hot at the imagery. He whispered softly, “Surely, Senior Tiya’s milk tea is the best.”
“What about my milk… ?” Kristia leaned on her chin, continuing her teasing.
“Your… your milk… tea is delicious.”
“You haven’t tried the ones sold outside. How do you know my milk tea is good?” Kristia prodded.
“B-Because…” Su Yuchen’s gaze involuntarily glanced at the small grapefruit placed on the round table. “B-Because…”
Seeing him nervously sweating, and smelling his strong scent, Kristia swallowed uneasily. Why did she tease him? Wasn’t she the one suffering? Seeing and not being able to taste…
Crossing her legs tightly under the table, Kristia chuckled nonchalantly. “Junior Yuchen, you still stutter when teased. You’ve got room for improvement.”
Su Yuchen glanced at her and whispered, “Even if I improve, I won’t stand a chance against your charm, Senior Tia.”
“Not bad, Junior Yuchen, complimenting me proactively.” Kristia praised. “You’re doing great~”
Clap!
A cup of strawberry parfait was placed in front of Kristia, and a glass of lemon water in front of Su Yuchen. Phyllis snorted coldly, “Are you two having a normal conversation or flirting?”
“What’s the problem?” Kristia glanced at her strangely. “What flirting? Junior Yuchen, do you understand what she’s talking about?”
Su Yuchen shook his head in confusion.
“He might not understand, but Tia, don’t play innocent with me!” Phyllis sneered. “What’s the point of teasing him?”
Glancing at Su Yuchen, Phyllis didn’t hide her disdain. If even his scent was so faint, how hollow was he? His blood must be bitter, thin, and scarce, not fragrant or thick.
“Junior Yuchen, don’t mind her. Just a bitter woman.”
“I usually don’t listen to vampire nonsense anyway.”
Kristia squinted. What expression would he have when he found out about her identity?
Phyllis snorted and turned her head to look at the screen in the shop.
【 Our reporters here inform that the Princess of Chang’an, Her Highness Su Yuxi, has just arrived at the Sheng’an International Airport and is heading to the Chang’an Tower in the imperial city, preparing to attend the Mid-Autumn banquet of the imperial family… 】
“Princess…?” Phyllis glanced askance at Su Yuchen. “Junior, your name seems quite similar to this princess. Are you related?”
Kristia pretended to be surprised too. “Really similar, Junior Yuchen. Is she your sister?”
