CHAPTER 35 - Chapter 35

Su Yuchen stood up casually, dusted off his backside, and looked towards the trash can next to the door. A small black dog popped its head out, holding a banana peel in its mouth. “I have to ask it why it dug out the banana peels from the trash can.”

“Ha, Junior Su, your luck is a bit off… Xiao Hei, apologize to him.”

Xiao Hei whimpered and jumped out of the trash can, still holding the banana peel in its mouth, wiggling its butt as it walked toward the house.

Su Yuchen picked up the banana peel he had slipped on and threw it into the trash can, then followed Jiang Shengyue’s steps into the house.

The faint scent of fruits lingered in the air. Su Yuchen scanned the room.

The room wasn’t large, but it had a wide variety of fruits. An old lady sat in a rocking chair, squinting, while the black dog lay at her feet, gnawing on the banana peel.

“Grandma Li, I’m here to buy some fruit,” Jiang Shengyue said, leaning in.

“Girl, I’m not deaf; I heard you just fine.”

“Just to make sure you didn’t miss it,” Jiang Shengyue turned to Su Yuchen. “What do you like to eat…”

“Never mind, I’ll pick for you.”

Jiang Shengyue swiftly selected various fruits, skillfully packed them, weighed them, paid for them, then handed a large bag of fruits to Su Yuchen. “Junior, consider this my part of the apology. I’ll contact you for the rest later. Can I get your contact details?”

He graciously accepted the bag of fruits and shared his contact information with her. Jiang Shengyue promptly took out her phone and added him as a friend before nudging her chin towards Su Yuchen. “Confirm.”

“Confirmed.”

“I like your straightforwardness, Junior Su.” Jiang Shengyue glanced at his nickname on the phone. “You have a sister?”

“Yeah, she’s a year younger.”

“That’s nice, having a sister is really lucky.” Jiang Shengyue’s mood lifted a bit. “Let me pick a few more fruits for you. I have a sister too, so I understand.”

“Okay.” Su Yuchen watched as she added a few mangoes to the bag. He thought that these fruits might come in handy when he got back, perhaps to appease Xia Yushuang’s anger.

“Senior Jiang, I’ll take off.”

“Sure, okay.” Jiang Shengyue waved. “I’ll compensate you for the rest next time.”

Watching Su Yuchen leave, she sighed in relief. “Grandma Li, I’m leaving now.”

“Girl, are you getting ready for a romance?”

“Grandma Li, don’t overthink it; we’re not in that kind of relationship.” Jiang Shengyue waved again. “I’ll come by next time~”

Leaving the fruit shop, the smile disappeared from her face. While making a call, she headed toward her Little Fire parked nearby.

“Yeah, stay at the cold drink shop for a while longer. Sister will come to pick you up shortly. Behave and don’t wander around.”

After hanging up, she made another call, and soon, a repair shop sent a vehicle to tow Little Fire away.

Jiang Shengyue also arrived at the shop. “Sister Rong, the tire burst; I’ve come to fix the bike.”

“But didn’t you just get it checked? Blew out during the race?”

“No.” Jiang Shengyue looked at the woman in work clothes, covered in grease. “Maybe it was overinflated?”

She had fixed the brakes herself the last two times they malfunctioned, but for a blown tire, she needed a replacement.

“I see… it’s blown quite badly. How did you ride it?” Zhang Rong asked while calling over an assistant to change the tire.

“I was about to accelerate when it burst, almost hitting someone,” Jiang Shengyue stared fixedly at Sister Rong’s actions. As a female biker, she understood motorbike repairs and even kept tools at home. However, if everyone fixed their vehicles, wouldn’t the repair shop go out of business?

“Good thing I have your tire model in stock; otherwise, it would take days to get it shipped from the Xuanqing Empire.”

“Sister Rong, you should always keep them in stock; money isn’t an issue for me.”

“No wonder; you make millions in just one race, right?”

“Because they keep wanting to beat me but always fail, so they end up giving me money.”

Jiang Shengyue pursed her lips and muttered softly, “I usually don’t carry that much money…”

“What did you say?”

“Nothing.”

“Sigh, the world of the wealthy, I, a small shop owner, can’t understand.”

Amid the usage of magic and the handling of various tools, a new tire was swiftly mounted.

“All done.” Zhang Rong stood up and looked at Jiang Shengyue. “I checked other parts; everything’s fine.”

“Everything’s… fine?” Jiang Shengyue narrowed her eyes.

“Absolutely fine.” Zhang Rong tidied up her tools. “Your unbeatable legend won’t be broken.”

“With your expertise, there’s no doubt.” Jiang Shengyue smiled, slipped her right hand into the pocket of her tracksuit, and lightly touched the cold screw. “Well then, Sister Rong, I’m off.”

“Bon Voyage.”

Pushing her Little Fire out of the repair shop, she put on her helmet and glanced back at the busy Sister Rong.

‘I wonder who bribed you.’

The freshman named Su Yuchen did seem innocent. It was just an unfortunate streak of three times coincidentally encountering motorbike malfunctions.

Some coincidences in the world really left people speechless.

Vroom!

Twisting the throttle, she zoomed away.

Returning to the residential area with a large bag of fruit, it was already late. When he reached Block 2, Su Yuchen spotted Xia Yushuang coming out.

The weather was hot during the day and cold at night, so Xia Yushuang was dressed in sportswear.

“Taking out the trash at night?” Looking at her passing by, Su Yuchen asked, “Isn’t it usually done in the morning?”

“Just felt like it,” Xia Yushuang replied calmly, continuing her steps to toss the garbage into the bin, then glancing back at him. “You’re back quite late.”

“Bought you some fruits.” Su Yuchen said casually, “The fruits from that store are fresh and delicious. I happened to pass by… You also like fruits, so I bought some for you.”

This was a strategy called presenting someone else’s flowers.

“Some?” Xia Yushuang looked at the huge bag of fruit and sighed lightly, “Geeky Junior, can’t even differentiate between ‘some’ and ‘a heap’? I know you don’t have a girlfriend, but you shouldn’t indulge excessively. Showing symptoms of senility at such a young age, what’s going to happen in the future?”

“Want some?” Su Yuchen ignored her venomous tongue. “If not, I’ll take it back to my place.”

‘Just said you bought them for me, now asking if I want them.’

Xia Yushuang stared straight at Su Yuchen, who chuckled. “Just kidding, they were originally for you. Come on, I’ll help you carry them to the door.”

He took the lead, yawning as he headed towards the building.

Xia Yushuang silently followed. Seeing how tired he was and that he had bought fruit, she dismissed the thought of asking about his conversation with Tia Yufei.

Glancing at the bag he was carrying, she planned to make a fruit salad the next morning.

“It’s really hot today. Hopefully, it won’t be like this tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow might be even hotter, unfortunate Junior.” Xia Yushuang said calmly, “The blame for this can only be on you.”

Why did she pay attention to the field during class?

To be aware of any unfortunate event and quickly resolve it, but none appeared.

So, the heat was the unfortunate event he brought upon himself.

“Senior Sister Yushuang, can you stop jinxing things?”

“I’m just speaking the truth… Su… the sweaty Junior.”
